Mary Lewis is Jill Paine's younger daughter. She was brought up in Norfolk and studied at the Royal Acadamy of Music. In 1974 she moved to Wales, where for twenty years she directed a centre for Christian spirituality. Mary was ordained an Anglican priest in 1999. She lives at Dolanog, near Welshpool and on the Isle of North Uist.
