David Boulton was Head of Current Affairs at Granada Television, where he won a Royal Television Society award for creative services to broadcasting. A Quaker, a member of the Sea of Faith educational trust, and a Westar Institute advocate for religious literacy, he has written twenty books on current affairs, contemporary history and religion. Modern Believing called his previous book, The Trouble with God, a wonderful repository of religious understanding, and a liberal theologian's delight.
