Descrizione libro Hardcover. Condizione: Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Fine. Black hardcover with title in black on front cover and spine. Condition: Fine, binding sound, no inscriptions. Dustjacket condition: Fine. 414pp. Many colour illustrations. This book was published to accompany the exhibition of work by the American artist Robert Rauschenberg (1925-2008) held at the Tate Modern, London from 1 Dec 2016 to 2 April 2017. The exhibition then toured to the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. It was the first full-scale retrospective since the artists death in 2008. Rauschenberg challenged the primacy of painting and invented new forms of art-making that moved freely among media and methods. He refused to accept conventional boundaries, defining the themes of his art as multiplicity, variety and inclusion. This comprehensive book includes sixteen short essays focusing on specific moments in the artist's career, examining his production across and extraordinary range of media. Codice articolo 007673
