Impressive, yet completely insane... almost impossible to forget. Religious fervour and the destruction and havoc that it can wreak is the central subject in Euripides' writing - not the power play. What is the difference between the gods and men? If gods are as vengeful and bloodthirsty as men then we should not worship them. Blood lust is not godly and should not be craved. L'autore
Frederic Raphaelis an American-born, British-educated, screenwriter, biographer, nonfiction writer, novelist and journalist.
Kenneth McLeish was the most widely respected and prolific translator of drama in Britain and, until his early death in 1997, edited the NHB Drama Classics series.
