Over 700 women who gave birth in six hospitals in the South East of England in 1987 were studied and their expectations and experiences are reported in this book. The study was unique both because of the large number of respondents and because it is prospective.
The book is in three parts: the first presenting the background, methodology and main results of the study. The second part covers a number of topics in greater depth and the third part comprises all the questionnaires used in the study and additional details of certain analyses.

L'autore:
Dr Josephine Green is a Research Psychologist. She has carried out a large amounts of research on aspects of childbearing as seen by both parents and professionals during the 12 years she has been at the Centre for Family Research at University of Cambridge.
