In "Dying to Win Robert", Pape presents the findings of the first comprehensive database of every suicide terrorist attack in the world from 1980 until today. Discrediting widely-held misconceptions on suicide terrorism, he creates for the first time a clear psychological, sociological and strategic profile for combating suicide attacks. Robert A. Pape is a professor of political science at the University of Chicago, where he is the director of the Chicago Project on Suicide Terrorism (CPST). In 2001, he was consulted in connection with the 9/11 attacks and founded a database on terrorism as none was available. The CPST is now the most authoritative database of its kind, providing information to the US government. He is frequently consulted by legislators, government officials, and the media on questions related to the best way of handling terrorism.
