This is the second volume of Herd's "The History of Fly Fishing," which begins with "Volume One: The History," itself a much-expanded version of his original book, "The Fly," first published in 2001. "Volume Two: Trout Fly Patterns 1496-1916" lists chronologically all the famous British fly patterns by author, and the many variations of each fly, alongside the original tying instructions, a glossary of fly-tying terms and useful information on hook scale conversions.
