George Sommers is a freelance writer who has been published internationally, nationally and locally. Mr. Sommers has photographed wildlife from Alaskan bears to Florida alligators as a hobby. Born on Long Island, New York; the current Quincy, MA resident is "companion human" to Pippy the cockatoo, pictured here. His writing is regularly featured in "Pet Gazette" and examiner.com Boston under PETS George is a 1978 graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst Massachusetts School of Journalism, where he majored in Journalism and English.
