Glenys Carl was born in Wales and lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She has worked in both hospice and palliative care, and founded Coming Home Connection in Santa Fe, a non-profit that recruits and trains volunteers who provide free in-home care to those with medical conditions. Ms. Carl has won numerous national and local awards for her work, including the Manhattan Institute’s Social Entrepreneurship Award and the Santa Fe Community Foundation’s Piñon Award. Hold My Hand, originally published by Pan Macmillan, sold more than 80,000 hardback copies and won a New Mexico Book Award for best memoir. Her story continues to inspire people all over the world.
