Al-Khwarizmi developed the Arabic numerals, based on the Hindu-Arabic numeral system and Indian mathematics. The Western world adopted his numeral system. His invention of Algebra and Algorithm paved the way for the age of Enlightenment. Khwarizmi was a philosopher and mathematician. His Persian quest for knowledge, love of truth, and mathematics led him to leave his mark on the humanity.
