Giovanni Bandini, geboren 1951, studierte Indologie, Vergleichende Religionswissenschaft und Indische Kunstgeschichte. Er unterrichtete an der Universität Heidelberg und arbeitet seit 1987 als freier Übersetzer.
Ditte Bandini, geboren 1956, studierte Völkerkunde, Religionsgeschichte und Indologie. Sie arbeitet an der Heidelberger Akademie der Wissenschaften sowie als freie Schriftstellerin und Übersetzerin.
