L'autore
Herta Müller
Herta Müller wurde 1953 in einem deutschsprachigen Dorf im Banat/Rumänien geboren. Nach einem Publikationsverbot und Repressionen durch den Geheimdienst Securitate konnte sie 1987 nach Berlin ausreisen, wo sie auch heute lebt. Zu ihren bekanntesten Werken gehören die Romane ›Atemschaukel‹ und ›Der Fuchs war damals schon der Jäger‹, die Prosabände ›Niederungen‹ und ›Der Mensch ist ein großer Fasan auf der Welt‹, der Essayband ›Der König verneigt sich und tötet‹. Für ihren Roman ›Herztier‹ wurde sie 1998 mit dem Impac Dublin Literary Award ausgezeichnet, dem weltweit höchstdotierten Literaturpreis für ein einzelnes Werk. Nach zahlreichen weiteren Ehrungen erhielt sie 2009 den Nobelpreis für Literatur.
