About the book >.>.> My basic idea was to describe a ship, a containership. There is no need to review a number of ships, but funda- mentally just one, for the reader who wants to know what there is to see on such a ship. All ships are the same, or almost the same, in the most important features of their equipment and function. One ship is, then, described here in total (and her two sisterships that are almost the same), in detail, from bow to stern, from the compass bridge to the double bottom, its crew, its propulsion units and its functions. In the first edition of this book, I described an Hamburg- S?damerikanische Dampfschifffahrtsgesellschaft Eg- gert & Amsinck Santa class vessel. In 1961 the shipping company introduced its Cap San vessels so I replaced my first book with a description of this modern express cargo vessel. Many basic changes have occured in shipping. Ham- burg-S?d has had built a whole fleet of containerships deployed in services between North America, Australia and New Zealand, and between Hamburg, Brem. Codice articolo Batch-FM371-VG-8838
