Kochen und Schreiben - das sind seine beiden Leidenschaften. Kein Wunder, dass sich Sebastian Dickhaut inzwischen als Foodjournalist und erfolgreicher Kochbuchautor einen Namen gemacht hat.
Sebastian Dickhaut hat beides von der Pike auf gelernt: das Kochen und das Schreiben. Nach seiner Koch-Lehre arbeitet er vier Jahre lang in Frankfurts exklusiver Gastronomie und volontiert daraufhin bei einer hessischen Tageszeitung. Im Anschluss arbeitet er mehrere Jahre als Redakteur bei einem Kochbuch Verlag und macht sich 1995 schließlich als freier Autor und Journalist selbständig.
Er gründet den Münchner Gastro-Führer DelikatEssen, schreibt Food-Reportagen, entwickelt Rezepte - und erfindet 1998 gemeinsam mit Sabine Sälzer das Konzept zu "Basic cooking", der erfolgreichsten und innovativsten Einsteiger-Kochbuchreihe der letzten Jahre. Nach drei Jahren voller Kochen und Schreiben in Sydney gründet Sebastian Dickhaut in München das Werkstattbüro "Die Kocherei", wo er heute Workshops veranstaltet, Bücher schreibt und Food-Konzepte für verschiedene Medien entwickelt.
