Sie reisten im Jahr 2021 an neun verschiedene, »heimatlich« konnotierte Orte in Westfalen, etwa das Hermannsdenkmal, das Schiffshebewerk Waltrop, die Henrichshütte Hattingen aber auch die Ruhr-Universität Bochum. Im Austausch mit dort lebenden Menschen, Vereinen und Tourist\*innen untersuchten sie die Bedeutung, die diese dem jeweiligen Ort zuschreiben. Dabei ging es vor allem um die Frage, inwieweit sich der Blick von außen mit der Selbstwahrnehmung der in Westfalen lebenden Menschen deckt. Curated by the photographer Peter Bialobrzeski and the Westphalian Office for Literature Office, the book captures the visual and literary results of the renowned authors and photographers who where invited to partake in the project. In 2021, they traveled to nine different places in Westphalia with »home-ish« connotations, such as the Hermann's Monument, the Henrichenburg Shiplift and the Ruhr-University in Bochum. In an exchange with local people and clubs as well as tourists, they investigated the meaning those groups ascribe to each place. The main question was whether and to what extent the outside view overlaps with the self-perception of the people living in Westphalia.
