Departing from the phrase "Cold front from the Balkans" that is widely used in Turkey, the exhibition brings together works by thirty-six artists expressing a response to the social, political, and cultural milieu that surrounds them. The exhibition features, among other names, Maja Bajevi?, Braco Dimitrijevi?, Vadim Fishkin, IRWIN, Laibach, Mladen Miljanovi?, Ivan Moudov, OHO, Dan Perjovschi, Mladen Stilinovi?, Ulay, and Sislej Xhafada. Within the frame set up by the curators Ali Akay and Alenka Gregorie's texts, the catalogue accompanying the exhibition considers the Balkan artists' attitudes with respect to the state, ideology, geography, and alternative histories.
