本书习题曾经是加州理工学院两学年必修课程上留给学生的家庭作业以及测验试题；费恩曼本人教学的1961年至1964年以及随后的近20年间（《费恩曼物理学讲义》是必修课指定教材）都是如此。期间，很多人对题目的设计、编写作出了重要贡献。习题有3个来源：莱顿和沃格特的《物理学导论习题集》以及加州理工学院编写的《费恩曼物理学讲义习题集》的第2卷和第3卷。原先的习题以全新的面貌呈现：图形进行重绘，使用现代单位制。《费恩曼物理学讲义习题集》的第2卷和第3卷新加了很多题目，同时提供了习题解答，这在以前的版本中是没有的。这是《费恩曼物理学讲义》3卷的习题首次统一出版，也是首次提供几乎所有习题的答案。
