The first part of Lubomir Longauers planned cycle Graphic Design in Slovakia after 1918 bears the name Tradition of Modernity. The author deals with the beginning of Slovak graphic design. After a slow start there was an unprecedented expansion of Slovak cultural life. In the late twenties succeeded Martin Benka, Andrej Kovįcik, Jaroslav Vodrįzka, Karol Ondreicka, Jozef Cincķk, Stefan Bednįr and in the end of thirties also Rudolf Fabry. Each of them has its own portrait in the publication, that presents artits work through his whole life. In addition, there are the chapters that deal with the overall situation of Slovak graphic design between 1918 and 1938.
The books is richly illustrated with hundreads of historical works, most of which are forgotten and so far they have not been published in this content and context.
