With the book “Let the kids play”, Pax Paloscia exalts the fresh naiveté of the “36 Chambers” series. Maximum weights of the independent creativity, aimed at writing black on white their research on the street. Coming from Rome, Pax Paloscia, is travelling the world to find new inputs for her inner and mechanical eye, between Paris and New York, with the camera under her arm and a suitcase full of memories. And it is the remembrance, dreamy and nostalgic, of childhood the key of her book “Let the kids play”. The title is a metaphor of an emotional condition, more than anagraphic, to react to the adult cynicism. Through Graffiti, drawings, photography, videos, she defines her universe the same way childrens play with the symbolic objects of their enchanted world. “An intimate diary – writes Laura Lombardi –, similar to the secret box we had when we were kids, full of useless treasures, but precious plugs of a world between reality and imagination”. Growing, Pax rediscovered that sense of wonder in the street, source of authenticity and emotions. This is a free zone, crossed by urban nomads searching non-places to re-conquer. The book expresses the special intensity of the human nature, that mix of pureness and honesty that kids easily convey, the unexpected irony hidden behind our everyday gestures. Discovering that, in the ordinary, often the extraordinary can be captured. Roman, born in 1974, after the classical studies graduated from the Academy of Illustration and Image of Rome. To introduce her to the art world are painting and photography installations and videos, connected to the childhood and the street culture. The more influencing elements on her work are the urban movements and street art. But, photography remains her true obsession. At the age of twenty two, Pax moves to Milan Milano where collaborates as free-lance artist with advertising agencies publishing houses, newspapers and magazines (Rolling Stones, Urban, EnVille, Ventiquattro, Mover). Her painting and photography works are used for exhibitions, press campaigns and attachments (Mazda, Omnitel, Findus, Levi’s, Fnac). She also makes booklets, covers and photo-shots for Italian singers (Paola Turci, Max Gazzé, Ginevra di Marco, Nada, Stantibailor, La Camera Migliore). In 2003 founds, in collaboration with the art critic Laura Lombardi, an “international visual art network”, focused on the international street scene, called “STUDIO14?. Her works are exhibited in Italy and France. Her reference gallery in Paris is Addict Galerie (www.addictgalerie.com). In 2007 she graduated from Icp-International Center of Photography of New York. She actually lives in New York where continues her career as free-lance artist.
