Sometimes scoring isn't the only thing when you're a striker, as top tier footballer, Scott, has found out. He's awoken to find himself in over his head he's just shagged someone who's not his wife, rather his best friend's wife, to be precise. Keeping such indiscretion under wraps isn't easy, especially when your every move is fastidiously documented on every tabloid and broadsheet all over the world, your every thought tweeted and followed by millions. It is especially difficult when there are reporters in woodwork, eager to sniff out a story that will expose the corruption, decay and sleaze that fuels this fraudulent and multi-billion dollar industry known as the Premier League. In a world where the currency is fame, how much is Scott willing to lose to keep everything he gained? If you've ever wanted to know what goes on behind-the-scenes of one of the most prestigious football leagues in the world, consider this book your grandstand season ticket.

After a crazy year for off-field shenanigans in the English game, Neil's hilarious book couldn't have been timed any better. You can't help but picture certain footballers in your head as you read it. Everyone who read Premier Leech gave it the thumbs up... It's the Novel of the Year for 2011 --FourFourTwo, UK
ENGLISH football clubs are bought as playthings by foreign investors while amoral players shame the game with their antics. Scott's loaded, the club captain - married to a hot wife - is sleeping with a team-mate's missus. Then the Press pack sniff the scandal. An entertaining novel that really nails the ugly game --The Sun, UK
You cannot attempt to parody Premier League mores without having a stab at being preposterous and believable at the same time, and Humphreys gamely eschews realism to give it a good shot --Paul Wilson, The Observer
In 1996, Neil Humphreys left Dagenham, England, to travel the world. He got as far as Toa Payoh, Singapore, and decided the rest of the world could wait. His 10-year sojourn in Singapore saw the publication of three best-selling works: Notes from an Even Smaller Island (2001), Scribbles from the Same Island (2003) and Final Notes from a Great Island: A Farewell Tour of Singapore (2006), and the omnibus Complete Notes from Singapore (2007). Neil then headed south for Victoria, Australia, where his fifth book, Be My Baby, was conceived and gestated in 2008. He writes for several magazines and newspapers in Singapore, Australia and the UK. He still watches West Ham and believes Billy Bonds could get a game for them.
