Il 26 luglio 1721 il "Wiener Diarium" informava i suoi lettori che era pronto un nuovo libro del sovrintendente generale alle costruzioni Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach. Il libro, intitolato "Entwurff Einer Historischen Architectur", poteva essere ritirato dai sottoscrittori direttamente presso la sede dell’architetto. L’Entwurff è una raccolta di 86 fogli che illustrano l’architettura degli ebrei, egiziani, siriani, persiani, greci, romani, arabi, turchi, siamesi, cinesi e giapponesi, insieme ad alcuni progetti dell’autore. Nel terzo centenario della morte del maestro austriaco, questa ristampa si propone di guardare al libro di Fischer come a un preciso progetto culturale, che reagisce a uno specifico contesto storico e geografico, ma che suggerisce anche un atteggiamento più generale e sfida l’architettura contemporanea. Il volume è accompagnato da una traduzione integrale dei testi originali e completato da saggi di Maarten Delbeke, Steven Lauritano e Pier Paolo Tamburelli.
On 26 July 1721 the "Wiener Diarium" informed its readers that a new book by the general surveyor of constructions, Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach, titled "Entwurff Einer Historischen Architectur", was ready for subscribers to collect from the architect’s place. The Entwurff is a collection of 86 sheets illustrating the architecture of the Jews, Egyptians, Syrians, Persians, Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Turks, Siamese, Chinese and Japanese, along with some of the author's projects. Upon the third centenary of the author’s death this re-print proposes to look back at Fischer’s book as a precise cultural project, reacting to a specific historical and geographical context, and yet suggesting a more general attitude that can challenge contemporary architecture as well. The volume is accompanied by a complete translation of the original texts and complemented with essays by Maarten Delbeke, Steven Lauritano and Pier Paolo Tamburelli.

Maarten Delbeke è professore di storia e teoria dell'architettura presso ETH Zürich. Ha tenuto numerose conferenze sulla storia e la teoria dell’arte e dell’architettura nella prima Europa moderna.
Maarten Delbeke is professor for the history and theory of architecture at ETH Zürich. He has lectured and published widely on the history and theory of art and architecture in early modern Europe.
Pier Paolo Tamburelli è uno dei soci fondatori di baukuh. baukuh ha realizzato la Casa della Memoria a Milano (2015), il padiglione d'ingresso della Birreria Poretti a Induno Olona (2019), sta trasformando la Seminar School di Hoogstraten e la città studentesca di Tirana e sta progettando la nuova biblioteca di Milano. Tamburelli ha insegnato al Berlage Institute, alla Harvard GSD, al Politecnico di Milano e attualmente è ordinario di teoria della progettazione al Politecnico di Vienna. Tamburelli è stato uno dei fondatori della rivista di architettura “San Rocco”. Nel 2022 ha pubblicato "On Bramante" per MIT Press.
Pier Paolo Tamburelli is one of the founding partners of baukuh. baukuh completed the House of Memory in Milan (2015) and the entrance pavilion of the Poretti Brewery in Induno Olona (2019). The office is currently transforming the Seminar School in Hoogstraten, developing the strategic plan for the Student City and the new headquarters of the Albanian Police in Tirana, and designing the new European library in Milan. Tamburelli has taught at the Berlage Institute Rotterdam, at TUM Munich, at FAUP Porto, at Harvard GSD, at the University of Illinois at Chicago, at Milan Politecnico, and he currently holds the chair of Design Theory at TU Vienna. Tamburelli was one of the founders and editors of the architectural magazine “San Rocco”. In 2022 he published “On Bramante” for MIT Press.
