Riassunto: No military experience necessary for this journey from the tropical island of Eleuthera, Bahamas to the frozen beauty of Newfoundland, and from the exotic Orient to old world Europe. This hilarious adventure through 26 moves in 17 years as a Navy family, is a fantastic voyage that takes each new challenge and meets it head on with the natural humor and acquired wit of the author. This is not some contrived, month-long stint for a television show! This is real-life survival! As if the "standard issue" challenges were not enough, the author is that type of person things just "happen" to naturally. Finding a stranger in the middle of the night on her bathroom floor in Okinawa, closing her dress in the door of a departing cab in Athens, and almost losing her mother-in-law to the running bulls in Spain are just a few examples of why she constantly hears, "It could only happen to you!"

L'autore: Barbara Bennett: I have been married to Navy Chief Bob Bennett, retired, for over 31 years. Our two daughters are now grown and we have all moved, by our OWN choice to North Carolina. This book was a life-long dream. In July of 1994, our older daughter Kimmie was married, our younger daughter Kelly Jo left for boot camp, and my employer announced a complete, permanent shut down. With my job and children suddenly all gone within a span of ten days, I was not an "empty nester"; my whole world was gone. It was obviously time to fulfill my dream of writing this book. And now whenever anyone asks, "Where were you when . . .", I can run to my Table of Contents and answer with confidence.

We have recently moved to North Carolina, by our own choice, brining our children and grandchildren along. I am a full time Mortgage Loan Underwriter for the State of N.C., teach Mortgage Processing and also Creative Writing at the local community college and spoil our grandsons every chance I get.
