Riassunto: Argue with Me offers a promising answer to teachers unsure how best to take advantage of new technology and the ease with which students seem able to use it. The flexible curriculum the book presents, geared to 6th-12th graders, is a result of years of research engaging students in argument as a way to develop thinking and writing skills. Argue with Me includes lesson plans, videos, applicable Common Core standards, auxiliary materials ready for copying, topic suggestions -- everything a teacher might need to use the curriculum. The book also provides a summary of the research evidence and illustrations documenting students' gains. The lead author, Deanna Kuhn, is the widely published author of Education for Thinking (Harvard University Press, 2008) and Professor of Psychology and Education at Teachers College Columbia University.

Review: Five successive cohorts of middle-school students at Columbia Secondary School have participated in this multi-year program. Their progress in developing argumentation skills is meticulously documented and remarkable. --Dan Novak, Assistant Principal, Columbia Secondary School for Math, Science and Engineering, New York NY

Kuhn's work has radically raised our expectations of what teachers and students can accomplish when they set themselves to arguing about topics they care deeply about, using digital tools to hone their skills. --Lucy M. Calkins, Robinson Professor in Children's Literature and Founding Director of the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project.

We've long been admirers of Kuhn's work and we're excited now to see how her argumentation and inquiry curricula will work in Singapore. It's essential that our students learn to think independently, and this approach indeed seems a path to get them there. --Dr. Christine Kim-Eng Lee, Assoc. Professor and Head, Curriculum Teaching & Learning, National Institute of Education of Singapore; Dr. Yew Jin Lee, Assoc. Professor, Natural Sciences and Science Education, National Institute of Education of Singapore.

We have had good success in introducing middle-school students to argumentation with this method, and they then progress with enthusiasm to the more classical debate forms. --Erik Fogel, Director New York City Urban Debate League

We have used Kuhn's argument and inquiry curricula for several years now in the Dominican Republic with very encouraging results. The Spanish translation of her Education for Thinking book has been an inspiration, and we look forward to the Spanish-language version of this new how-to book that will be a great help to teachers and enable them to impact more students. --Sarah Espaillat, Inaugural coordinator, Programa Educación para Pensar, MINERD-CIM-INTEC, Dominican Republic Henry C. Reyes, Project Coordinator, Matias Ramon Mella School, Dominican Republic
