Riassunto: Around the World in 180 Days is a geography and history program covering each continent's history, geography, and culture. And yet this is not a textbook. It is a series of questions that the student must research in order to answer. Plenty of resources (available in most public libraries) are suggested to help students conduct their research, and the teacher's edition provides all the answers. Pages in the student book are three-hole punched and perforated so that the student can complete the worksheets and compile a notebook that will document his or her work. One great thing about this curriculum is that it is written with a multilevel approach, with questions for students of all grade levels, and these levels are clearly marked in the book. This is truly a curriculum your whole family can study at once! This two-volume set includes an illustrated teacher's edition and a student workbook.
About the Author: Sherrie Payne, the mother of six children, began homeschooling in 1983. For a time, she taught not only her own children but others as well. At one point, her classroom held eleven children ranging in age from preschool through high school. This experience gave her insight and perspective on teaching several grade levels at once. Sherrie's six children, now adults, include a policeman, a lawyer in the Air Force JAG corps, a kindergarten teacher, a new college graduate, and two stay-at-home moms who are eagerly looking forward to homeschooling their own families. So far, Sherrie's grandchildren number fourteen.
