''Futuristic Science Stories was one of four almost identical low-quality sf magazines published by Spencer in the 1950s; the others were Tales of Tomorrow, Wonders of the Spaceways and Worlds of Fantasy. Futuristic published some of the most dire of all British sf of the early 1950s, but it also published the first stories by Lan Wright and Lionel Fanthorpe, both in issue no 6 (January 1952). The magazine attracts collectors chiefly because it is so awful'' (Encyclopedia of SF/4th Edition). Includes 'Out Of The Past' by L. V. Heald, 'Worlds Without End' by Lionel Roberts, 'Heritage' by Law Wright, 'Sirius Rampant' by T. W. Wade & 'The Legacy' by Jerome Strickland. Super-Science Fiction: Vol. 2, #2 (February 1958). Super-Science Fiction was an American digest science fiction magazine published from 1956 to 1959, edited by W. W. Scott and published by Feature Publications. Robert Silverberg and Harlan Ellison. Includes 'Worlds Of Origin' by Jack Vance, 'Prison Planet' by Robert Silverberg, 'Secret Weapon' by Arthur Zirul, 'The Red, Singing Sands' by Koller Ernst, 'The Happy Sleepers' by Calvin M. Knox, 'The Old Timer' by Richard R. Smith & 'Time Travel Inc.' by Robert F. Young. Features a cover by Frank Kelly Freas. With a career spanning more than 50 years, he was known as the "Dean of Science Fiction Artists" and he was the second artist inducted by the Science Fiction Hall of Fame. British Space Fiction Magazine: Vol. 2, #5 (October 1955). ''Vargo Statten Science Fiction Magazine owed its existence to the success of Scion's paperback-book line, which included many sf novels written by John Russell Fearn writing as ''Vargo Statten''. Only the first five issues had ''Vargo Statten'' in the title - it was renamed The British Science Fiction Magazine for issues 6 - 12, then retitled again as The British Space Fiction Magazine for issues 13 - 19. Includes writing by: Vargo Satten, Douglas Dodd, Barrington J. Bayley, Dan F. Seeson, Harry Cohn, M. M. Commander, H. M. Carstairs & Clifford Searle. Smith, John D. Hill, George Jean Nathan, Stewart H. Holbrook, Aiken Welch, William Henry Chamberlin, Jerome Mellquist, Raymond Vernon, Alan Devoe, Lyle Owen, Ray Bradbury, Thomas M. Johnson, Leona Ames Hill, Mary Poole, Robert P. Tristram Coffin & Charles Angoff.
