Su questo libro:

Riassunto: This book is a photographic record of the Warbirds over Wanaka airshows since their inception in 1988, to 2000. The photographs have been collected from many sources and are accompanied by text by Ian Brodie, the curator of The New Zealand Fighter Pilots Museum. An acknowledged expert in aviation circles, his text is informative and evocative of the atmosphere of these special occasions. Phil Makanna, who has contributed many of the air-to-air photographs for this book, is an internationally renowned American photographer of aircraft, who visits each show to record the wonderful and entertaining events that occur during the three-day extravaganza that is Warbirds over Wanaka. Warbirds over Wanaka has grown in attendance records from several thousand people to tens of thousands in 2000. Tim Wallis and his team are internationally recognised and respected for their organisational skills and the passion they have for the aircraft that Alpine Deer Group owns and invites to attend these biannual shows. Coupled with the outstanding location of the show at Wanaka, audiences have been thrilled and amazed by incredible aerobatic displays, had appetites sated by wonderful food and have been entertained by various artistic groups over the last fourteen years.

Dal risvolto interno: Warbirds Over Wanaka began as the vision of Sir Tim Wallis. Since it's inception in 1988, the airshow and its accompanying celebration of local talent, in the form of displays of machinery from many eras and stalls that showcase arts and crafts, has grown in stature and reputation. It has become a well-respected and celebrated event on the calendar of aircraft enthusiasts and visitors to Wanaka from all over the world.

This book is a record of the highlights of the airshows from 1988 to 2000. The stunning photographs showcase special visitors to the airshows, as well as giving an idea of the behind-the-scenes organisational skills and professionalism of the people who willingly give of their time and energy to create an event that is second to none for hospitality, amazing aerial displays and beautiful surroundings.
