THIS EXPOSE ON VICE AND THE WHITE SLAVE TRADE IN CHICAGO BY AN "INVESTIGATOR FOR THE DOUGLAS NEIGHBORHOOD CLUB'" WAS ISSUED IN MULTIPE LATER VERSIONS THAT ARE EASILY IDENTIFIED BY THEIR GREATER THICKNESS OR THEIR PAPER COVERED BOARDS AND WITH AN EXPANDED NUMBER OF PAGES AND DIFFERING CHAPTERS. ONE OF THE CHAPTERS WAS ALSO PUBLISHED IN A VARIETY OF EXPURGERATED PAPERBACK BOOKLETS AT A LATER INTERVAL. THE CHAPTERS TTLES ARE OF INTEREST BUT ALL REFER TO VICE IN THE CITY AND ESPECIALLY THEIR CAUSE THAT WAS THE POLITICALLY ADOPTED POLICY OF THE SO CALLED "SEGREGATED" PROSTITUTION TRADE THAT WAS RAMPANT IN CHICAGO IN THE EARLY PART OF THE 2Oth CENTURY. TITLES INCLUDE THE WHITE SLAVE TRAFFIC, BATH AND MASSAGE ROOMS, THE ICE CREAM JOINTS, AUTOMOBILE RIDING, THE CIGARETTE EVIL, CHOP SUEY JOINTS AND THE STORY OF LENA MURPHY, A CHICAGO PROSTITUTE. THE FIRST CHAPTER ENTITLED "SOME PERSONAL EXPERIENCES" DEALS WITH "ASSIGNATION HOUSE+S" WHERE THE PROSTITUTION TRADE HAD MOVED OUT OF THE "SECREGATED VICE DISTRICTS" SUCH AS THE LEVEE AND INTO "WELL TO-DO NEIGHBORHOODS" WHERE THE MADAMS AND PROSTITUTES WERE LESS LIKELY TO BE HARASSED BY THE POLICE.
