Nonp. 32mo. 5"x3" (13x8cm), over 1½" (4cm) thick. Four items bound in one volume, each with separate title-page; Common Prayer title-page preceded by leaf printed with general title "The Church Services" and black ruled border only; New Testament also with half-title. "The Book of Common Prayer, and Administration of the Sacraments, and other Rites and Ceremonies of the Church, according to the Use of the United Church of England and Ireland; together with the Psalter or Psalms of David, Pointed as they are to be Sung or Said in Churches; and the Form and Manner of Making, Ordaining, and Consecrating of Bishops, Priests, and Deacons." / "Proper Lessons ." / "The New Testament of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ: Translated out of the Original Greek; and with the Former Translations Diligently Compared and Revised, By His Majesty's Special Command. Appointed to be Read in Churches." / "A New Version of the Psalms of David; Fitted to the Tunes Used in Churches. By N. Brady, D.D. and N. Tate, Esq." Unpaginated; all pages with ruled borders, texts in two columns; with very narrow white ribbon bookmarks. All edges of text-block gilt and gauffered. Hardback / hard cover: coated off-white leather spine with faux ivory-covered boards. Spine with pale olive-green coating, five slightly raised bands, gilt rules and title (Church Services), and dense blindstamped pattern in five of six compartments; coating at uppermost compartment almost rubbed off through handling, coating a little rubbed & cracked elsewheres. Front board with mounted cross, also in faux ivory, in bold relief; upper, lower and fore-edges of boards enclosed within pressed metal frame engraved with oak leaf, twig and acorn design, secured by small rivets (three per board, six in total) close to each inner corner and each fore-edge; pressed metal clasp between fore-edges engraved with foliage design, and in perfect working order. Single short crack extending from each corner rivet, about 1"-long at three corners and ½"-long at the other. All six rivet heads visible on pastedowns, five encircled by small rust pigment stain less than ¼" in diameter. An interesting example of mid-Victorian book design, with contents near fine, and binding holding firmly and still in very good condition. VERY GOOD copy. Codice inventario libreria

Original faux ivory-covered boards, front with mounted faux ivory cross in bold relief; upper, lower and fore-edges of both front and rear enclosed within pressed metal frame engraved with oak leaf, twig and acorn design, secured by small rivets (three per board) close to each inner corner and each fore-edge; pressed metal clasp between fore-edges engraved with foliage design, in perfect working order. Single short crack extending from each corner rivet, about 1"-long at three and ½"-long at the other. All six rivet heads visible on pastedowns, five encircled by small rust pigment stain less than ¼" in diameter; flyleaves only slightly affected. Off-white leather spine with pale olive-green coating, five lightly raised bands bordered by gilt rules, gilt title "Church Services" in one compartment and dense blindstamped pattern in all five others. Spine rubbed, with a few surface cracks; uppermost compartment lighter in tone than others, as coating almost completely rubbed off through handling.
