C. 2002. "First Edition, Second Printing" stated. Oversized hardcover (11x8½) in black cloth with silver lettering. Photo illustrated endpapers. 497 pages including index. Profusely illustrated with photographs. Absolutely fine copy in like dustjacket. Never read, still has the shrinkwrap, and was only opened to determine the printing. Fascinating study of early railroading and logging industry.(Climax was produced in Corry, PA.) This second printing has printed there in the Oso addendum, corrections plus another addenda by Thomas Taber is laid in. Staple binding, with heavier soft stock blue covers. 11x8-1/2. This would be the second addenda for this book, this prepared by Thomas T. Taber III and came after the first addenda done by Oso Publishers. This consists of additional locomotive records, corrections of existing locomotive record errors, and a few similar comments concerning the text. It not only contains additional information and corrections but gives a unique insight into the eventual stormy relationship between Taber and Walt Casler who provided much of the information for the Oso book. Taber and Casler started the initial historical compilation of the Climax data. A must have for the Climax buff, even more so for the owner's of the Oso printings, and even a necessary addition to Taber's own book, Titled "Climax, An Unusual Locomotive", which he wrote and had published in 1960, in a hardcover edition of 2,000 numbered copies.
