Riassunto:

Cell Lineage and Fate Determination provides a comprehensive view of the mechanisms regulating cell lineage and fate determination in an effort to understand how the fertilized egg is transformed into a complex of specialized tissues. It presents basic information on eight different animal models and recent developmental biological research done in each model. The book provides a focused forum presenting key information for researchers studying various aspects of developmental and cellular biology. Extensive use of tables and black-and-white and color figures helps illustrate each model. The book concludes by discussing future goals for bringing cellular, molecular, and genetic research to clinical applications and tissue replacement therapies.

Key Features
* Presents eight different animal models
* Provides a focused forum on cell fate determination that provides comprehensive and key information for researchers
* Illustrates the transitional relationship between researchers and clinicians
* Includes the extensive use of tables and color figures

Recensione:

"The thorough presentation and discussion of these eight animal model systems [sea urchin, leech, nematode, fly, frog, fish, chick, and mammal] would be very useful to anyone who thinks about many of the critical questions in development. It certainly should be on the shelves of all life science libraries."
--DOODY'S REVIEW SERVICE (June 1999)
"The contributors provide a broad overview of how findings from eight model organisms form our current understanding of the mechanisms by which embryonic cells attain their final differentiated state. For each animal, they present the important developmental processes, the experimental usefulness, and several chapters describing interdisciplinary research on key questions."
--SCIENCE (April 16,1999)

Weller Book Works sells new used and rare books. The bookstore was founded as Zion Bookstore in 1929 by Tony Weller's grandfather Gustav and is now owned and operated by Tony and Catherine Weller. WBW is a member of the American Booksellers Association (ABA), the Antiquarian Booksellers Association of America (ABAA), the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB/LILA) and the Mountains & Plains Booksellers Association (MPIBA). We are also members of The Salt Lake Vest Pocket Business Coalition, Local First, and the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce. Weller Book Works occupies 9000 square feet in historic Trolley Square, between Salt Lake City?s downtown and University districts and the Avenues and Sugarhouse. The store has two levels and ceilings high enough for salvaged local antique streetlights; it has an open industrial feel with exposed brick walls, stained concrete floors and salvaged metal on counters and facades. Our books are well organized and curated by 12 avid readers and diligent booksellers. We sell new, second hand and rare books of many topics with strong selections of literature, art, history, juvenile books and local culture. We also sell e-books via the KOBO link on our website. Additionally, Weller Book Works sells practical books, like cooking, self-help, crafts and how-to. We order new books and search for out-of-print and rare copies. In addition to books, we sell journals, cards, literary T-shirts and gift items. Our Rare Book Department showcases fine and collectible books of all topics with special expertise in Local History, Mormonism and Literature. We perform appraisals, host author readings, signings and other bookish affairs and we provide special services to libraries, schools, institutions and book groups.
