Riassunto: Almost everyone has given a tea party. You've invited your dolls, teddy bears, parents, and best friends. You've sipped juice and lemonade from paper cups while serving cookies and muffins on paper plates.
Now you can have a "proper" tea party. Learn to set the table with just the right items in just the right place. Use china, silver, linens, and lace.
Michele Pollard Patrick's Children's Specialteas: A Child's Introduction to Tea offers a step-by-step primer on the ritual of "taking tea." An elegant collection of pictures enhances this simple text to create a classic which every child should own.
Read this book and learn the etiquette of tea. Surprise your family and friends with your new-found social graces. They will delight in learning about tea from you.
About the Author:
Michele Pollard Patrick has been teaching tea classes to young ladies for ten years. She finds the tea party experience is a wonderful and proven vehicle for introducing the social graces at an early age. Since no primer or simple reference aimed at children presently exists, she decided to share her knowledge through Children's Specialteas: A Children's Introduction to Tea. In addition she imparts the value of sipping tea as taking the time to connect with a special person...a tradition she learned from her own mom at the kitchen table after school.
A native of New Jersey, Ms. Patrick has resided in the Washington DC area for twenty years. She is the founder and director of Children's Specialteas, a program designed to promote the social graces to young children. She is also self-employed as a protocol consultant and corporate trainer teaching adults about proper social behavior. Her credentials include certification from Notre Dame, the Protocol School of Washington, and the Capital Speakers Program.
Recently remarried after having been widowed, Michele Pollard Patrick lives with her husband and two children in Chevy Chase, Maryland. She is deeply involved with her community, particularly the schools in her area.
