THE OPENING PARAGRAPH STATES: "ON APRIL 27, 1968, THE CHICAGO PEACE COUNCIL SPONSORED A RALLY AND PARADE OF SOME 6,500 PERSONS TO DEMONSTRATE OPPOSITION TO THE WAR IN VIET-NAM. THE PARADE WAS COORDINATED WITH SIMILAR EVENTS IN OTHER AMERICAN CITIES, BUT CHICAGO'S APRIL 27 PARADE WAS UNIQUE: IT CULMINATED IN DISORDER AND VIOLENCE, WITH TWENTY PERSONS INJURED AND EIGHTY ARRESTED.THE BOOKLET CONTAINS 10 B/W PHOTOGRAPHS, SOME DEPICT POLICE CONFRONTING MARCHERS, BEATING PARADERS ON THE GROUND WITH CLUBS AND DRAGGING SOME TO A POLICE WAGON.
