Tight and square comb- bound copy with tan stiff paper wraps and black title. Signature and inscription of John Coady, Andrew McDonald's grandson and copyright holder on dedication page. Several light brown stains on front cover, and PO's information on title page. Interior is clean, unmarked and securely bound. McDonald was raised in Kent County, Michigan, and enlisted in the 21st Michigan Infantry, Company B. and fought at the battle of Chickamauga on September 20, 1863.
