An interesting piece of Camp Mishiwaka (Minnesota)/Kent Curtis memorabilia, as this copy is inscribed and signed by the author, and includes a colour sketch of the "original Drumbeater's Island" on the front endpaper (all dated August 18, 1931)i8. First edition. Original red cloth hard covers. Worn at edges; rear board shows significant moisture staining, though this has not penetrated the rear board or affected the endpapers or text. Old owner's name. Otherwise internally clean, tight and unmarked. Still quite a neat copy, and a scarce autographed item from this World War I veteran, boys' author and outdoors enthusiast.
