1st edition, of Fortune Magazine, near fine, stiff decorated covers, the magazine that represented wealth during the height of the great depression, 156 pages. An excellent history of the King Ranch of Texas, 1,250,000 acres, the largest ranch in the United States, and the largest ranch in the world that did it all, 125,000 head of cattle, with an annual operating profit of four hundred thousand dollars, this at the height of the greatest depression that has ever faced the United States. The present rulers of the King Ranch, at that time period, three grandsons and a son in law, the Ranch was regarded as a Texas Principality, illustrated with thirty seven photographs, and five full color paintings by J. Louis Lundean, also, three full page color maps, 24 pages. A fascinating look of one of the greatest of Cattle Ranches in history! In addition there are other stories of the times, including one on Henry Ford and the Ford Motor Company, and how during the period 1931 to 1933 the Ford Motor Company had lost one hundred and forty million dollars, or one million dollars a week for for 140 weeks! For the Jo Mora collector there is a quarter page ad illustrated by Jo Mora , and other fascinating stories of the era, including a mystery story of "Who Killed Amory King?" The advertisements are nostalgic and interesting. Quite scarce and more so in this nice condition. Codice inventario libreria 001645
