Descrizione articolo

Riassunto:

Shipped from UK, please allow 10 to 21 business days for arrival. Very Good, 1st Edition. 4to. 48pp. Beautiful and profuse illustrations from etchings by Martin Ware, mainly coloured including double and full-page, yellow endpapers. Very good clean tight sound square, no bookplate, inscriptions or ownership marks of any kind. In bright gilt lettered racing green cloth with lovely unclipped colour illustrated dustwrapper, very gently rubbed to upper corners. To reverse of dustwrapper one short closed tear to head of spine repaired with tape, also slight pale splash stain [water?] to tail of spine visible only to reverse of wrapper, not intruding or detracting, otherwise preserved in very good condition by removable transparent wrapper. A delightful for reader and collector alike.

Sinossi:

'She kissed and kissed her with a hungry mouth' A selection of Rossetti's most famous poems, from the hallucinatory 'Goblin Market' to 'In the bleak mid-winter' Introducing Little Black Classics: 80 books for Penguin's 80th birthday. Little Black Classics celebrate the huge range and diversity of Penguin Classics, with books from around the world and across many centuries. They take us from a balloon ride over Victorian London to a garden of blossom in Japan, from Tierra del Fuego to 16th century California and the Russian steppe. Here are stories lyrical and savage; poems epic and intimate; essays satirical and inspirational; and ideas that have shaped the lives of millions. Christina Rossetti (1830-1894). Rossetti's The Complete Poems is available in Penguin Classics.
