A history of the ferment of invention and manufacture of auutomobiles in this important manufacturing area, during the "Golden Age" of automobile invention. Anyone with a bit of mechanical knowledge and a bit of capital was gettng into the business of making cars at this time, when steam, electric and internal combustion were still in competition to become the basic means of powering the automobile. This book lists over 90 automobile the small area of Northeastern Ohio alone, between 1892 and 1932. It includes builders in, Akron, Elyria, Lorain Cleveland, Geneva, Norwalk, Painesville, Plymouth, Ravenna, Sandusky, Warren, Willoughby andYoungstown,with many photographs of vintage autoombiles and their inventors, designers and makers. This volume is in excellent condition with very fresh, bright, clean cloth. The book iis INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR on the half-title in the year of publication. "For Earl Burrows, A veteran in automobiles- With best wishes, Richard Wager November, 1975. The book plate of Earl Burrows appears on the ffep with his signature in ink. A very fine, clean, crisp, unmarked, unblemisehed book with only a faint sign of dampstain in the lower front corner from p. 281 on. In a dust jacket which is tight. bright, clean and unclipped with some small nicks to the extremities on the front panel. Very near fine in a very good plus dust jacket.
