L'autore:

Agota Kristof est n�e en Hongrie, d'o� elle s'est enfuie en 1956. Install�e depuis lors � Neufch�tel, en Suisse, elle �crit d'abord des pi�ces de th��tre, avant de commencer sa trilogie romanesque directement en fran�ais, la langue de son exil. Le Grand Cahier en est le premier volet, suivi de La Preuve et Le Troisi�me mensonge, prix du Livre Inter 1992.
