L'autore: Diane Payne has been a teacher, counselor, university administrator, and high school principal for more than twenty years. Diane is currently an associate with the Leadership Group of the Carolinas where she serves as a leadership facilitator to high schools in North Carolina. In addition to being a principal, Diane has served as a faculty member of the Principals Executive Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and as a member of several committees of the National Association of Secondary School Principals including the High School Task Force and the National Alliance of High Schools Advisory Council. Diane has published articles in The High School Magazine, the NASSP Bulletin, and Principal Leadership and written a handbook on Identifying Effective Teaching in the Classroom. She coauthored with Sondra VanSant, Psychological Type in Schools: Applications for Educators. She was the MetLife/NASSP Principal of the Year for North Carolina (2000) and recognized as a Distinguished Alumnus of the School of Education of the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. In 2005, Diane received the Order of the Long Leaf Pine for distinguished service to North Carolina. Diane lives in Raleigh, North Carolina, with her husband Mike and has two daughters and three grandchildren.
Sondra VanSant has more than 30 years experience as a counselor, teacher, trainer, and consultant. She maintained a private practice in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, for many years and has worked as a counselor and teacher in public and private schools. She is a faculty member of the Principals Executive Program at the University of North Carolina and has worked with many school systems and faculties to help them work together effectively in teams, to understand how students learn differently, and to design curriculum and instruction to accommodate these differences. She is coauthor with Diane Payne of the first edition of this book, entitled Psychological Type in Schools: Applications for Educators. She is also author of Wired for Conflict: The Role of Personality in Resolving Differences, also published by CAPT, and a number of articles. Her seminar and workshop leadership has also involved private corporations large and small and federal and state government agencies, covering topics related to leadership, conflict management, group dynamics, and career development. She served as a faculty member of the Association for Psychological Type s MBTI® Qualifying Program, as a career counselor for the USA Today online edition, and frequently speaks at conferences. Sondra lives in Chapel Hill with her husband, Jerry, and their "surrogate grandchild," labradoodle Meg. Their two children live nearby.
