Covers very good with an old price sticker, interiors near fine. Pakistani Journalist Mahbub Jamal Zahedi (1929-2008) moved to Dubai where he launched and edited the Khaleej Times. He also issued a work on "50 Years of Pakistan Stamps" (1997), and contributed to Gibbons Stamp Monthly and Scott's Stamp Monthly. In his Foreword, Abdullah Saeed Bu Hassan, Director General of UAE's General Postal Authority, credits this as a commendable attempt to tell UAE's postal history in a way that also appeals to "non-philatelists who wish to know how these countries, once ignored as barren deserts, transformed themselves into some of the richest countries in the world". His book is based on over 10 years of research, beginning with links between the Gulf and India, then Oman, Bahrain, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras al Khaimah, Ajman, Fujairah, Umm al Quwain, Kuwait, Qatar, and the UAE. The photos show typical activities in a Muscat post office, early views of main post offices in Bahrain, Doha, Dubai, Kuwait and Muscat, as well as rulers and specimens. Scarce. Codice articolo 2307
