Riassunto: Serious illness and injury are sure to provoke an intense turning to God in prayer. Come, Healing God: Prayers During Illness offers suggestions for praying when one feels lost for words, is overwhelmed by pain or discomfort, or simply wants to know that God is close.
This collection, written by authors experienced in working with the sick, includes Scripture-based prayers, excerpts and prayers from other authors, and supportive sentiments and encouragement. All are short. The prayers deal with many kinds of healing, spiritual and emotional, as well as physical. Some ask for deliverance from illness; others ask for acceptance.
Come, Healing God will be welcomed by seriously ill persons, their families and friends, hospital chaplains, and by those who work with the dying.

L'autore: Joan Guntzelman holds a doctorate in counseling psychology from the University of New Mexico and a master's degree in clinical psychology from Xavier University in Cincinnati. For many years she was a nurse and nursing supervisor. She has written Blessing Life's Losses: Letting Go and Moving On, 124 Prayers for Caregivers, God Knows You're Grieving, and Caring for Those Who Suffer: A Retreat With Mother Teresa and Damien of Molokai.

Lou Guntzelman was a priest of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati who served as a parish priest and pastor, high-school teacher, seminary professor, hospital chaplain, and retreat director. He wrote a weekly newspaper column in the Greater Cincinnati area as well as the books So Heart & Mind Can Fill: Reflections for Living and The Country Called Life.
