About the Author: Meet the Author Sherryann Frederick is a mother of two, an Author, Manager at Jackson Hewitt Tax Service and President and CEO of the Bethel Frederick Community Charitable Foundation. She was born in, St. Vincent and the Grenadines. She is a graduate of the St. Vincent Girls High School. She held the position of Vice President, and later President for a youth group named Shining Stars Youth Club, in Lowmans Windward, St. Vincent and the Grenadines. She is also a graduate of the St. Vincent Technical College. Upon graduating from College, she worked at Dr. Ralph Gonsalves Law Chambers, then CLICO until she migrated to the United States. She further obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, New York. The idea of A Heartfelt Moment emerged while Sherryann was undergoing open heart surgery and was hospitalized at Barbados' Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in 1998. She felt the need to share the story of her ordeal to the world. It is an open book on her journey with a heart disease; her inspirations, motivations, her faith, and how she conquered what seemed impossible. Sherryann wrote this book, in an effort to raise awareness of cardiovascular heart disease. Being able to share her experiences of her own open heart surgery, she is hoping that it will highlight this particular disease since it is more common in the elderly, than in young persons. In 2013, she established the Bethel Frederick Community Charitable Foundation (BFCCF), in recognition of her mother Bethel Frederick, a former librarian who provided over thirty-five years of service at the Lowmans Windward Public library. In 2014, the foundation awarded two scholarships to the top male and female student, in the 2014 CPEA examinations, from the Lowmans Windward Anglican School, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and also distributed backpacks filled with supplies to the other nine successful students. She is also a past student of the above school. In 2015, Sherryann was nominated as the Treasurer for a non profit organization named, Progressive Friends of SVG, aimed at assisting patients of the Mental Health Center and The Lewis Punnet nursing home, in St.Vincent and the Grenadines. She currently resides in Queens, New York.
