Descrizione articolo

This book provides a comprehensive written and visual history of the breweries of Kansas City from the 1850s up to the present day, including branches and depots of pre-Prohibition, out-of-town breweries that did business in Kansas City. The book contains 585 vintage photographs and illustrations, 352 of which are in color.

About the Author:

H. James Maxwell is an attorney and life long resident of Kansas City who is an avid collector of breweriana (brewery advertising collectables) and student of KC history. Bob Sullivan, Jr. is also a Kansas City resident with roots embedded in the cities brewing history. His great-grandfather emigrated from Ireland in the 1880s and entered the saloon business in KC, going on to become one of the owners and a director of KCs largest pre-Prohibition brewery. Bob represents the forth generation of his family in the beer business.
