Riassunto: This book contains many rare and previously unpublished photographs of the City of London during the Blitz. It is written by a professional City of London Guide-Lecturer and London Blue Badge tour guide The City of London is a modern, high-tech business city, one of the world's most important financial centers. But it wasn't always like that. The City is where London began and for many hundreds of years it was densely populate and teeming with life. At the turn of the 20th century there was a large resident population of approximately 100,000, compared with about 7,000 today. It was a busy thriving place, the docks were still functioning and industry and commerce were conducted not only on weekdays but also in the evenings and at weekends. It was also where families lived, worked and played. The many rare and atmospheric photographs in this book show how the City of London used to be. Once you've found out where to look and what to look for, you'll be surprised at how much of the old City you can still find
