Hardback. Vg++/No DJ. No Edition Given. Non Fiction. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Book is clean and tight and looks unread. "This Book is primarily a study of the social organization of a nation. Anthropologists have often outlined the social structure of small preliterate societies; the present author, who happpens also to be an anthropologist, has attempted to apply the methods of social anthropology to a social survey of a modern nation, viewing its social structure as a functioning whole with each of its parts having meaning only in relation to all the othyer parts. Being primarily a socisl survey, the book pays little attention to the material aspects of Japanese culture such as art and architecture, while it devotes considerable attention to government, religion, school snd the network of social relations making up the national structure. Thus it is hoped to give a context for the interpretation of the behavior of Japapnese and some basis for an understanding of future developments in Japan.". Codice inventario libreria 003423
