Riassunto: Light on the Guru and Disciple Relationship is an inspiring and Practical book in two parts. The first section, written by Swami Satyasangananda, who accompanied her guru Swami Satyananda Saraswati, on his tours as he enlightened his followers on the science of yoga, contains chapters on how to recognize a guru, types of gurus, types of disciples, negativity towards the guru, initiation, and many more. The second section of satsangs and talks by Swami Satyananda on many aspects of the guru linking with the gurus spirit surrendering the ego, transmission and devotion. Many people have argued that a guru is not necessary, because the real guru is already within us. This is true, but how many of us can claim to hear, understand or follow his instructions? In fact, most of us even tend to doubt his existence. How many of us can discriminate between the real inner guru and the monkey mind, acting out the dictates of the ego? This inspiring book is written in two parts: the first by Swami Satyasangananda, who accompanied her guru, Swami Satyananda, on his tours as he enlightened his followers on the science of yoga.

About the Author: Swami Satyanananda Saraswati, a disciple of Swami Sivananda founded the famous Bihar School of Yoga in 1964. A prolific writer he is the author of some of the outstanding Books on Yoga like Asana Pranayama Mudra Bandha. A Systematic course in the Ancient Techniques of Yoga & Kriya and many other Books. Born in 1923 at Almora, U. P., India. Joined his guru, Swami Sivananda Saraswati, in the Himalayan town of Rishikesh in 1943. Completed his sannyasa training and began parivrajaka life in 1956. Wandered extensively throughout India. Realized his mission and founded the International Yoga Fellowship Movement in 1962 and the Bihar School of Yoga at Munger in 1964. Recognized as an adept and authority of the deepest esoteric knowledge by saints and ages throughout India in 1973. Has been traveling widely since then to all corners of the globe, spreading the message of Yoga, and gliding and inspiring countless disciples, aspirants, ashrams and centers. Swami Satyasangananda Saraswati, affectionately known as Swami Satsangi, was born on 24th March, 1953, in Chandernagora, West Bengal. After graduating in English Literature from Delhi University, she joined Air India and traveled extensively abroad. From the age of 22 she had a series of inner awakenings which ultimately led her to her guru, Swami Satyananda Saraswati. It was his guidance and direction that inspired her to take the path of sannyasa. Since 1981 she has traveled ceaselessly with her guru on numerous lecture tours in India and abroad.
