Boards marked and rubbed (matt paper used is very susceptible to marking). Top edge gilt, others uncut. Light tanning to free endpapers. In ink to front free endpaper, written boldly: 'Howard Bligh St George / from his wife / Xmas 1921' [and in pencil] pages 219 / & A.2'. (on page 219, printed in red: '1913 St. George, H.A. B., 2nd Lt. 1st Life Gds. France (k. 15.11.14). O/w contents clean and bright. Binding firm and square. Extra title paper labels inserted at gutter to rear of book. Loosely inserted, a form 'Eton War List' inviting corrections, and a slightly silvered b/w photograph of a half-length statue of a young child. A Very Good copy.
