THE MANUSCRIPT STATES," KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS THAT WE SAMUEL BOONE AND MOSES BOONE BOTH OF JEFFERSON COUNTY AND COLONY OF VIRGINIA ARE HELD AND FIRMLY BOUND UNTO THOMAS THAILKELE OF LINCOLN COUNTY AND COLONY AFORESAID IN THE JUST AND FULL SUM OF EIGHT POUNDS TWO SHILLINGS CURRENT MONEY OF VIRGINIA TO BE PAIDTO THE SAID THOMAS THAILKELE HIS CERTAIN ATTORNEY HIS EXECUTER OR ADMIISTRATORS ETC. THE DOCUMENT GOES ON TO STATE THAT THE SHERIFF OF JEFFERSON COUNTY, JAMES F. MOORE, LEVIES A SUM OF FOUR POUNDS, ONE SHILLING FROM THE ESTATE OF SAMUEL BOONE TO BE PAID WITHIN THREE MONTHS. SAMUEL AND MOSES BOONE MOST LIKELY ARE RELATIVES OF FRONTIERSMAN DANIAL BOONE. THE GENEOLOGY OF THE BOONE FAMILY IS TRACED FROM ENGLAND THROUGH PENNSYLVANIA, TO THE COLONY OF VIRGINIA AND KENTUCKY.
