This (first) volume has pink-tinged damp stains: at the upper front corner, decreasing in size to about page 8 and again increasing in size from about page 500 to the end; at the spine, from the upper edge, from the title page, to about page 100. at the spine, from the lower edge, to about page 50, and again from about page 200 increasing in size to the end of the book where the lower edge and lower page corners are affected too. The front board of is slightly warped and the rear board in damp-stained; Volume II: xvii, 548 pages. Decorative red cloth boards, gilt, with lightlly worn corners, and at the spine head and foot.
