About the Author: Oleg Grabar was Aga Khan Professor of Islamic Art and Architecture at Harvard University until his retirement and has since joined the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey. He has published fourteen books and countless articles on a range of subjects. He is the founding editor of "Muqarnas."
